Acting Program
Students age 6 and up.
Beginning Acting (ages 6-11)
Students enjoy playing theater games and storytelling, while learning
basic acting skills and theater terms.
Students will perform Spring workshop productions.
Beginning Acting with Music (ages 6-11)
Theater games and storytelling, basic acting skills and theater
terms. In addition, students will use singing and movement to bring theater
to like. Workshop performance in Spring.
Musical Theatre (ages 10+)
Learn the basics of Musical Comedy, including acting, singing and movement.
Students will prepare for Workshop performance in the spring.
Acting Plus (ages 12+)
For older students, little or no experience required. Focus on basic staging,
theater terms and early character development. Students will prepare for
workshop performance in the spring.
Musical Theatre Workshop (ages 13+)
**Instructor Approval/Audition only.
For the serious student only. Students will perform several times throughout
the year, including a full
workshop production in Spring.
Junior Conservatory (ages 7-11)
** Instructor Approval/Audition only.
Advanced class for younger students. Previous onstage work required. Improvisation
exercises, theater games, scene study, and actual rehearsals are used
to teach acting skills in preparation for spring workshop production.
Advanced Conservatory (ages 13+)
**Instructor Approval/Audition Only.
Study theater while preparing workshop performances of monologues, scenes,
and one-acts. Improvisation exercises, theater games, in-depth character
development and actual rehearsals are used to teach acting skills. This
class will perform a full workshop production in the Spring.
Summer Theatre Conservatory
Students age 6-18. Summer Session only.
The Summer Theatre Conservatory is a full summer of fun, drama, music,
dance, theater games and improvisation. Students audition to perform a
full Broadway musical show. Instruction is geared to awaken individual
talents and freedom of self expression, memorization, script interpretation,
stage presence and working within a group setting. Students learn the
fundamentals of staging a play along with proper acting and vocal techniques.
Past performances include Annie, Peter Pan, Bye Bye Birdie and Honk.
The Summer Theatre Conservatory is open to students age 6-18 with auditions
held in June.
